Dear Parents, Leaders and Volunteers,
AWANA is an international ministry with chapters throughout the world. Although Northwest Baptist Church sponsors this particular chapter, children from a variety of churches attend AWANA. If you do not have a church, we invite your family to consider our church as your home. We look forward to ministering to your family.
AWANA’s purpose is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. AWANA’s and Northwest Baptist Church’s goal is for clubbers to realize that God loves them and that through His Son, Jesus, He provides salvation and that each clubber can have a personal relationship with Him. We also want clubbers to know that through learning His Word and obeying Him, they can have meaningful and rewarding lives. This is accomplished through Bible memory, Bible lessons, games, achievements and fellowship.
We invite you to the first AWANA club night on Sunday, October 11th at 5:00 pm. Please register early (by October 1st) for the reduced rate. We request that you fill out a Medical & Liability Release Form, using one form per family, unless there is child-specific information to include. You may copy a blank form but please include original signatures on each form. You may also get additional forms at NWBC’s website: www. nwbaptistchurch.com under the heading “What We Do,” “Kids and Youth” and then “AWANA”, or request forms from Debbie Paul or in the NWBC’s church office.
We are offering the following AWANA Clubs this year:
Puggles: Infant – 2 year olds (Informal program) – (A Puggle parent must stay on NWBC premises and serve in one of the clubs during AWANA Club Night).
Cubbies: 3-5 year olds (must be 3 by August 31st) (2 yr. track) – A Cubbie parent must stay on NWBC premises and serve in one of the clubs during AWANA Club Night.
Sparks: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade (3 yr. track)
T&T: 3rd -6th Grade (Truth & Training) (4 yr. track)
Small Group Time: Each clubber has a handbook which they progress through by reading stories and memorizing Bible verses and doing activities. During Handbook time, leaders check clubbers progress, listen to clubbers recite memory verses, check for understanding and all the while encouraging them to ask questions while developing their walk with Christ. Prizes and awards are earned as clubbers complete sections in handbooks.
Game Time: Our game directors plan exciting games each week to encourage teamwork and provide connections to God’s Word.
Large Group Time: Each club night Bible truths are presented to clubbers in a variety of ways.
(Vacations, snow days, etc. coincide with the Marysville School District, thus club is cancelled during school closures due to inclement weather and/or specific holidays, excepting LID days.)
If you would like to volunteer weekly, or as needed for special events OR have volunteered previously, please attend one of the AWANA Volunteer Training Sessions held at NWBC on:
